About

 What’s the peanut gallery?

The peanut gallery is the upper balcony of a theatre where you can normally find the cheapest seats (and therefore me). It takes its name from the fact that its occupants used to munch on peanuts, the cheapest snack available. It is also known as the nosebleed section but that would have been a rubbish title for a blog. It can also refer to the criticism coming from inexperienced, unsophisticated or provincial viewers.

Who’s me?

Peanut gallery regular, cat photographer, professional dodger of small talk, bespectacled Ravenclaw, unapologetic language lover, rehearser of Oscar acceptance speeches in the shower, book pusher, theatre addict, a nice person™.
